With its upcoming releases Realmac Software, makers of RapidWeaver, have made the conscious decision to sherlock the popular third party plugin, Stacks.

Realmac Software has a history of sherlocking third party plugins:

• Codafy - this was a plugin that enabled the web inspector for use directly inside RapidWeaver, the first of its kind. After Codafy was released, with much positive feedback from users, Realmac quickly added this functionality to RapidWeaver in a minor release.
• Waterfall - this plugin allowed users to automatically and seamlessly update their themes directly in RapidWeaver, without needing to manually download and install updates. Again, Realmac decided to add this functionality to RapidWeaver after Waterfall was released to the public.

Stacks is, by far, the most popular third party plugin for RapidWeaver, and arguably the only reason that RapidWeaver has remained viable over the past decade (and longer). RapidWeaver without Stacks is like a fish in two inches water. With the upcoming release of RapidWeaver Elements, Realmac is yet again attempting to replace a piece of community software.

We cannot in good faith continue to support Realmac Software or RapidWeaver, considering their behavior towards third party developers.
